I am interested in using the PSG data for my project, especially the data found in STAGESPSGKeySRBDVariables2020-08-29 Deidentified.xlsx. Unfortunately, I could not find any information on what the column names mean, or which unit the "sleep_time" column was measured in. Do you know where this information could be found?

Hey - we didn't receive any documentation about this dataset, other than that >=3% desaturations were used. Presumably "sleep_time" is in seconds, e.g. 25800/60 = 430 minutes.

The other columns seem to pertain to event counts (e.g. n_obs -> number of obstructive apneas), average event lengths (e.g. hyp_dur -> average length of hypopneas), and an overall AHI.

Hi Michael,

I am also working on this dataset and I am wondering if you found more info about the columns. I am wondering if there is a publication or whitepaper for this dataset where all this can be clarified/confirmed?

Best, E

Sorry, I'm not aware of anything. I don't think there have been any publications/papers out from the STAGES data creators/submitters yet. My guess for the SRBD dataset is that these were computed/tallied from the available PSG scoring annotations, i.e. the CSV files contained in https://sleepdata.org/datasets/stages/files/original/STAGES%20PSGs
