Thank you for your response and for explaining the known issues with the desaturation annotations in SHHS.

Inspired by NSRR and LUNA projects, we have been developing a web-based platform called somnetx for data visualization and interactive processing to make data findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. It is a application based on B/S architecture and can be accessed through a web page, so there is no need to download any software.

Currently, it can import data in EDF format and recognize XML format annotations according to NSRR standards.

We are committed to making this tool available for everyone to use, and we welcome feedback and suggestions as we continue to improve its functionality. However, the platform is still in development, and at present, we may only be able to accept small-scale testing.

Dear sleepdata members, I am writing to inquire about the data provided in your community and whether it is annotated according to AASM standards. I have been reviewing the Sleep Heart Health Study dataset and have noticed discrepancies between some of the data and the latest AASM standards.

For example, in the shhs2-200340-nsrr.xml, the start point of the annotated oxygen desaturation events is not the baseline, and the endpoint is not at the lowest blood oxygen level.

I would greatly appreciate any information or clarification you can provide regarding the annotation standards used in your community's datasets. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hi Mrueschman, thank you once again for your support. If there is anything we can do to assist in the effort to establish a unified data standard, we would be more than happy to contribute.

I really appreciate the community's contribution to annotation unification and rearranging the annotation into -nsrr.xml format, which greatly reduces the ambiguity of analysis.

However, when I need to know when the lights were turned on/off, I couldn't find the relevant markup in the xml, either the "light on/off" or "Beginning/end of time in bed" label. A few files in MESA and SHHS1 dataset have been checked.

After comparing many PSG records I found that the discrepancies between the annotation results of different technicians were much greater than I had expected. I am not sure how much this variability affects the diagnosis.

Also, it's really hard to get multiple doctors to analyze the same record, and sometimes you have to do it when dealing with ambiguous issues.

So we have developed a web-based edf processing software. Through a browser, the user can parse the EDF file and load the annotations in xml. This software makes it easy to share a record to many people, and everyone can view and edit it at the same time.

Currently this software is mainly used internally in our lab, but we are more than willing to share it for free.

I would like to know if anyone is interested in it.

The data in the NSRR databank includes PSG in EDF format and annotation in XML format.

I am wondering if there is an free tool that can load and visualize the edf and annotation from the NSRR as well as modify the annotation like most commercial PSG software do?

Dear all, I found a channel called "Oximetry Status" in the PSG signal with values 0, 1, 2, but I don't understand what it means. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you very much!
