Hi,

According to the study website, there's data on medications at interim http://jhuccs1.us/shhs/details/manual/forms/default.htm

But I can't find this in shhs v.0.7.0 ?

Winda,

The SHHS Coordinating Center at Johns Hopkins did not prepare all the data for release on BioLINCC and our resource. In terms of medications, what we have are the derived variables based upon the actual medication lists. The lists of individual medications were not prepared for release.

I do have access to the baseline medication lists, was there a specific question you were looking to answer?

Thanks Mrueschman

Derived variables are fine, and I can see them in the current dataset. But I can only find them in SHHS1 and SHH2, not at SHHS interim. I was wondering if you have access to that data?

Let me know if I'm not being clear.

Winda,

I don't see any data from the Medications Form in the official/final datasets released by Johns Hopkins. I followed up with the dataset owners to see if these data were ever processed/used.

Winda,

It sounds as if the interim follow-up medications data were never fully processed (i.e. translating medication names into the classification types we see in SHHS1 and SHHS2). Here's what I got back from the dataset owners:

You are correct, there are no medication variables included in the FUP dataset. I looked through my notes and emails and can’t find any documentation as to why we decided to exclude these data from the final analytic dataset. I believe that the medication data collected at the FUP time point were neve categorized as they were at the SHHS 1 and SHHS 2 time point and this may be why we excluded the medication data from the final dataset.
