Dear NSRR developers,

Your data integration efforts are so valuable for the sleep medicine field. Thanks for all the work you've accomplished.

I have a question about the SCDEs sleep terms your team developed.

You mentioned in this paper *Zhang et al. (2018). The National Sleep Research Resource: towards a sleep data commons. * that you developed SCDEe terms specific to sleep medicine because existing nomenclature systems such as SNOMED CT do not fully capture sleep concepts. I think this is a very important contribution, and I wonder if any more detailed documentation/introduction of SCDEs is available.

I'm currently working on a project where the extraction of sleep concepts from electronic medical records might be necessary. So I think SCDEs will definitely be a valuable resource for my project. Thanks!

Lian

Thank you for your feedback. Currently, we are taking a different approach in developing sleep CDEs and do not possess detailed documentations regarding the previous SCDEs work at the moment. However, we would appreciate hearing your thoughts, particularly on how to enhance the usefulness of SCDEs in working with electronic medical records.
