Dear NSRR team, thanks so much as always for all your impressive work! This is just to let you and/or others know that there seems to be a problem with 3 MrOS annotation files for visit 1, which are empty in the nsrr.xml form and contain questionable events in the profusion.xml mode. The three are aa2180, aa2618, and aa2931. with kind regards, steph
Dear Mike, thanks much for the fast reply! Glad to hear that I can just re-label the "unsure" events. With kind regards, Steph
Dear NSRR team,
I am working with a random selection from the CHAT data sets and noticed that I did not find any "mixed apnea" annotations in the nsrr or profusion xml files. As an example, I took case 300998 which according to the dataset variable HMANRBP [Number of mixed apnea per hour (NREM, Back, all desaturations)] has a value of 13.3, so there should be at least 1. I also "handsearched" the annotation files but could not locate any mixed apnea annotations. I hope I am not missing something obvious, but from the documentation it seems that mixed apneas were scored. Thanks and with kind regards Steph
Thanks very much Remo! I tried it right away and the NSRR gem now downloads also the larger files without problems. Thanks as always for the impressively fast and efficient help! Steph
Thanks Mike!
Thanks Mathias! That is what I did too in the end, but when I downloaded them "manually", although it seemed to work without problems, I have now seen that they got truncated to around 1 Gb and the file size did no longer match the length of the recording. What web browser did you use? With kind regards, steph
Dear Michael, thanks very much for the fast and helpful reply. It made me realize that my files must have been truncated during the download and indeed 1 GB is my maximum file size for any NSRR EDF. I then tried several ways to manually download a single larger CHAT EDF file but all got truncated at 1 GB. I realize that this is most likely a problem at my end, however, I can and did today download without any problems larger files (> 1.5 Gb) from other internet sites. I tried the usual tricks including limiting the download speed, but in no case could I download a complete EDF file > 1 Gb. I verified that this is specific to the NSRR files and does not happen with other sites. Since you did download the complete file, I am a bit at a loss what to try next. Would you have any idea/advice for me? With kind regards, steph
I have started to work on a subset of edf's from the CHAT study and noticed that for those edf's with a sampling rate of 512 Hz (e.g. 300721 and 300990), the duration stated in the edf header does not correspond to the actual duration of the edf file, which is considerably shorter and with ending times of the edf's frequently around 2:00 in the night. I was wondering if you would have any longer, more complete versions of those files somewhere? With kind regards Steph
I am currently working on the sof data and the two sets of annotations, the nsrr and the profusion set. As far as I have seen, the event data (leg movements, respiratory events, etc.) are exactly the same in both sets and the profusion set has additional information regarding scoring and montage settings that are not part of the nsrr xml files. The difference that is puzzling me regards the sleep stages which are in the form of start and duration of each block of continuous sleep stage for nsrr while it is a list of 30 s epochs in the profusion file. Besides the two lists having different lengths with the profusion one being longer, the onset of sleep i.e. the first epoch that is not wake, and the subsequent scoring seems to be shifted by exactly 30 s with the nsrr information being 30 s earlier compared to the profusion stages. When I checked the two sets against the actually edf traces in some selected cases, according to how I would score the epoch, it seemed that indeed the nsrr stages are 30 s off. I double-checked my procedures, but it is of course possible that I made an error or missed something obvious, for which I apologize in advance. So the two questions I have are: is the stage scoring information in the two files really different and possible shifted by 30 s? and regarding the different lengths of the sleep staging does the nsrr file uses some additional information to end the staging (it is not merely the post-sleep wake but also additional sleep that is part of the profusion but not nsrr staging)? Thanks very much and with kind regards Steph
Dear Remo,
got it! As you explained, the files will be downloaded to the current directory in the command prompt at the time of execution. Thanks very much, again. If I may follow up with another question - could you also only download selected edf files with the nsrr gem? I tried some variations of the nsrr download command but got nowhere. Thanks!
